Here at Dale and Ron's Auto Service Inc in Lawrence we often do diagnostics and sometimes the problem is obvious after hooking the car up to the computer and reading the codes. However, sometimes it isn't obvious during a test drive or after hooking it up to all those computer programs! You know there is a problem and a Check Engine Light is on with the fleet customer telling you the car has been having issues starting and the light has been going off and on depending on several factors. No pattern, no simple answer but the problem becomes obvious when you start following the "threads of the issue" thanks to all that ASE Technician training.

It's rare to find a company with the integrity of Dale & Ron's these days. As a parent of a KU student that lives far away, I found myself in tough spot with daughter's car that threw a rod bearing but I wasn't there to help with a significant project, needless to say. The dealership quoted astronomical rates to replace the engine, which I could not afford. After calling around, I found Dale & Ron's to help me through my challenges. Rick was amazing. He helped me weigh my options, found a motor, educated me on the process, quoted a project and was setup to do a motor swap. When I went to tow the car from the dealership to Dale & Ron's they matched Dale & Ron's price and followed Dale & Ron's lead on the solution. I felt terrible about flaking on Dale & Ron's after they helped me so much. I offered to compensate them for their time at their hourly rate ... they refused. They wouldn't take my money and simply said "send your daughter to us for future maintenance", which I will most assuredly do. The team at Dale & Ron's is all about doing the right thing - rare in this world.
